The East London Writeidea 2016 Prize

The Writeidea 2016 Short Story Prize is a competition is aimed at writers who have never been published before. Stories must be a maximum of 3,000 words (no minimum).
There is no set theme and stories are welcome in any form or genre.
Entrants must be 16 years old or over on the closing date.

Prize: First Prize £300, four finalists’ prizes of £50
Closing Date: EXTENDED TO 30 October 2016
For ages 16 plus.

The Writeidea ESOL Prize

The Writeidea ESOL Prize is a local short story prize for learners enrolled on Idea Store Learning ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses.

A panel of experts will judge the short stories, which can be fiction or non-fiction, and the title is “Friendship”.

There are three categories, according to learners’ abilities:

Category 1: Pre-Entry – Entry 1 ESOL (up to 300 words)

Category 2: Entry 2 – Entry 3 ESOL (up to 800 words)

Category 3: Level 1 – Level 2 ESOL (up to 1500 words)

Prize: £50 (for each of the three entry categories)
Closing date: EXTENDED TO 30 October 2016
For ages 16 plus.
